This is good for wives to know....
Two things.
One, don't tell your husband that red jello isn't an appropriate breakfast food. And two, don't tell him that eating RED jello on an expensive chair isn't appropriate either.
That would just be "bitching for no reason."
I thought I would pass that little tidbit of advice on to you.
You are welcome.

What the hell?
Highs have been in the 80's and I had a super cute outfit picked out to wear this weekend for our night on the town. And it didn't include a coat or sweater. Damn it!
A great weekend, dodging a bullet, and the little momma
Friday night, Hubby and I slept in the apartment above my parents garage and didn't have to wake up with the kids. Is that the best anniversary present or what? Of course, I woke up at 7:30 and missed my kids so I headed downstairs. Figures. So Hubby slept in and I enjoyed watching "The Office" on DVR, sipping coffee with Kahlua and having Mikey and Gran-T play with the kids and take care of their VERY needy morning habits.
On Saturday, my oldest and dearest friend, Jill, her husband (who is now one of Hubby's closest friends) and Bailey, my godson, came in to hang out and stay the night.
My brother and his girlfriend set up a scavenger hunt for Bram, map and all. Bailey and Bram had a ball searching for trinkets all over the 10 acres. It was a hoot watching them take it so seriously. Bram would hold the map and really check it out like he could read. He is wicked smart, but can't read yet. Shhhhhh, don't tell him.
We had a lot of Mexican martinis, a lot of wine, and a lot of food. SO FUN!! Bram was so sleepy and worn out on the way home, he fell asleep before we even pulled out of the driveway.
Also, this weekend something very big happened. NO MORE PACI!! It started on Thursday night. We told him he was a big boy and no paci.
And that was that.
He has asked for it a few times and I have caught him taking a "hit" off of Tess' from time to time. But at night time, no paci. Not a problem at all. So can we get a, "HALLELUJEAH!"
"HALLELUJEAH!"
Yesterday, I watched a friends 8 month old. This is Charlie. Tess felt very grown up and really was a huge help. Yep.
Bram, not so much. Please note the glorious outfit. Size 24 month Boden swim trunks, a tad bit small, dino t-shirt, and undies on his head. Awesome.
Good job little lady! She loves baby Charlie.
And just for fun, I thought I would share my Easter decor on the mantle. Cute. No?
See all the antique frames? My Uncle Randy makes them for me. My Daddy Rob (grandfather), had a house on one of his properties. The house was built in 1860 and was in bad shape. So, my Uncle Randy used tons of the old beaded board and crown molding when building he and my Aunt's new home. With all of the leftover wood, he started making these beautiful frames. I love them and I am about to put in another order for a white one.
Tiny little birds nest and bee hives lay in the twigs. I found a bunch of pretty eggs at Tuesday Morning to nestle in them.
And the bullet I dodged? I took Bram to get his 2009 pair of Crocs. He wanted the Scooby Doo Crocs. They were terrible. Crocs are ugly enough as it is but you should of seen these puppies (no pun intended) they were bad.
Fortunately for me, a bag of jelly bellies was able to persuade him to get the neon green pair. Because neon green Crocs are WAY better looking than the Scooby Doo Crocs.
What?

Happy Anniversary!
In five years we have had three pregnancies, two children, built a house, moved into a house, decorated a house, made lots of new friends, kept all of our old ones, tried lots of new food, lots of new restaurants, been to the beach, been to the mountains, been to lots of little Texas towns we didn't know exhisted, have purchased three cars, became a Certified Financial Planner, became a stay at home mom, have a golf cart, live on a golf course, started running, became a computer solitaire addict, became a blogger, lots of arguments, and even more laughs.
I love you dude. Everyone that knows you adores you. I think you are the best brother, best friend, best son, best dad, and most of all best husband a girl can ask for. Thanks for picking me to marry. And I can't wait to see what is next in store in this adventure.
Loving every minute of it!!!
I LOVE YOU!
Dear Fox News,
This will be just a quick little letter, I have tons of laundry to do and some curtains to sew, so let me get to the point.
I am putting a lot of the economy going bad blame on you. A LOT OF IT.
Your anchormen and women are becoming bored(specifically my OLD favorites Bill Hemmer and Megyn Kelly). No terrorists attacks on American soil, Presidential election is over, the American people weren't too troubled about Bristol Palin having a baby at 17, we've figured out what happened to poor little Kaylee, no Senators have been caught with an 18 year old intern, and no natural disasters that have left hundreds dead. This GOOD news, have left the anchors feeling sad and a little left out, Im afraid.
Therefore, this economy is all they have to focus on and they are leaving a lot of people very confused and down in the dumps.
Take this morning for instance, market opens down 65. You would of thought by the tone and facial expressions of Megyn Kelly on Fox, that somebody has just shot her Memaw in front of her. "Terrible news people, market is down. And remember, this isn't just effecting the fat cats on Wall Street. This is effecting YOUR future. YOUR savings. YOUR 401K!"
This behavior isn't necessary and really puts people not really "in the know" on high alert. Tends to panic and worry folks.
Panic and worry is making things really unnecessarily bad. And effecting my husbands job and stress level.
Now the market is up a little. And neither anchor has so much as batted an eyelash regarding this upward move on the Dow. Why would they? That is no fun at all.
SO, I am just asking you, please tell your anchors to knock off the drama. Yes, things are in the shitter right now. Got it. Great. BUT things will get better, and will get better. There is TONS of positive out there. Give it to us.
Thank you and have a wonderful day,
Coco

Sweet Love and Random Picture Friday
We are so wild and crazy that we are spending our 5 year anniversary with my parents. Well, our anniversary is Monday the 9th and we have big plans in Austin in a few weeks and we will celebrate then.
BUT this weekend my parents and some great friends are all going to be there for lots of food and adult bevs. and a toast to wedded bliss. Of course the kids will have lots of room to run free! It is going to be a glorious weekend.
Now let's get on with some random pictures that were taken this week in Cocoland, shall we?

Today in 1836 the Alamo fell. This is something all of you should know. Especially, if you are a Texan.
If you don't care, that is fine.
Just a little advice if your aren't interested, NEVER ever ask a question about the Alamo to my dad. If you do, you better have a few hours for a lengthy lesson in Texas history. Maps will be pulled out, replicas of the "Come and Take it" flag with be displayed, and you will know everything thing you never wanted to know about the battle between Santa Anna and Sam Houston. He is a proud Texan.
Let's take a moment and bow our heads.
Ok, moving on....

Oh, the Braminator. Are the rest of you having trouble taking pictures of your three (almost four) year old as we are? Dang, it is a chore at our house. Either he has a really weird fake smile that makes him look VERY constipated OR he is in some super hero pose OR he is doing the above. Hopefully he outgrows it.
Hola! Mi llama es Tessie Mayes. Mi muy bonita. Mi madre es muy bonita. Mi madre no habla espanol. Adios.
Please notice the floor below precious angel's high chair. This is what happens when you are not quick on your feet during meal time. The lil' punkin' will throw every. piece. of. food on the floor when she is done and you don't take it away fast enough. And I'm sorry for you if the lid to the sippy cup is not on tight enough. Seriously, you should see the blinds on each side of her chair. Disgusting.

I am a firm believer in diaper covers. You will never see Tess in a dress without matching bloomers. If dresses do not come with matching bloomers then you will see these, in an assortment of colors or monogrammed accordingly, on her tiny hiney.
They have been married for over 60 years and he was so frightened something would happen to her, the relief on his face and in his voice is clear and very touching. She is such a classy lady.
I have seen her many times in Austin (I worked downstairs from W's 2000 campaign) and she just radiates happy class. Her quick recovery is in my prayers.
That is it for now. Time to pack up the troops for a fun filled family fun weekend!

Kickin' ass and taking names!

I called about ballet lessons yesterday, and unfortunately, she can't start until she is three. And potty trained.
And I realize she is wearing Halloween pjs in March. We are in a recession people and I am just keepin' it real!
