Pray HARD

Pray hard for baby Cora. Pray like you have never prayed before.

I can't even imagine what her parents are going through and hope to God I never have to know.

But they are in this shitty situation and so is their precious baby.

All of our prayers worked for baby Harper, I know we can do the same for Cora.

Don't be a hater, be a congratulator!

My mother in law sews like you wouldn't believe. Like I have said before, I didn't just have a girl, I had "the girl." So I get lots of fun dresses, sewed especially for my little lady. Of course they all have her monogram on them as well.

The zebra dress arrived in the mail today. Just in time for Valentine's Day. It will also be a perfect spring and summer dress with a simple pair of white sandals. Or maybe a fun hot pink pair.

The cherry dress she made a few weeks ago, it has already been out on the town with a pair of red and white striped tights. So cute!!!

Thanks Iddy!

Sick boy

Guess who has pneumonia? This guy. Boo hoo! He is so sick and it is so sad. Luckily, I figured something was wrong yesterday morning, so we went straight to the doctor. It was caught before it got too bad. A shot in the heiney, breathing treatments, and antibiotics are going to get him all fixed up and better very soon.

Pneumonia just sounds so terrible.

As you can see, he is laid up in our bed, like the King of Sheba. A Dora and Diego marathon is on, an ice cold sippy cup filled with orange juice and some donut holes are sitting on the night stand. All is well.

On a side note, my doctor was off yesterday so we went to the minor emergency clinic. Our clinic is wonderful. The head doctor is super cute and was a head trauma doctor in Houston, so he is great and great with kids. Not your run of the mill "quack shack" like most minor emergency clinics.

BUT, I must say, when a mom walks in with a one year old and clearly a pretty sick but still pretty active three and a half year old.........move it along as quickly as possible. Please. The old man with the sprained ankle can wait. The mom with the kids going ape shit in the 5x5 room with no toys and quickly running out of Cheerios and cereal bars needs to get in and get out!

That is just my advice and what I think should be protocol in every doctor's office.

You can call me Mrs. Coco

When I became a stay at home mom, the plan was I would go back to school and get my Masters in education when both the kids were in "big" school. Ultimately, I would like to be a school counselor. I think I would love it and be very good at it.

My degree is in Child Development, and I worked for Dallas County for a few years before moving to Austin and working in the brokerage industry. My job with CCMS was awesome. I loved loved loved it! Unfortunately, if I would of had one kid, I would of qualified for the services I provided. In other words, I made no money.

Well, with the economy the way it is now, it looks I will be returning to the work place a little sooner than planned. At first, I was a little bummed. Now, I am really getting excited about it.

I am going to get my "emergency certification" to start teaching in the fall. Then after a year of teaching, I will start on my Masters. I need to be in the classroom for two years before I can be considered for a counseling position.

We are very fortunate that my salary will go straight to savings and isn't needed to pay bills and such. So, this will just go to our nest egg and will give us the cush we had before the stock market went to hell in a hand basket.

We are also fortunate that the Baptist church has a WONDERFUL full-time Christian school program. A lot of my friends children attend the Baptist school and love it.

I also like the fact a lot of my blogging mommies are working mommas as well and seem to handle it really well. And in fact wouldn't have it any other way.

I have no idea what grade I want to teach, I think Kindergarten. You teachers out there need to give me some tips, some ideas of what age I would prefer, what to expect, etc.

So, this is the new route the Coco train is now on. Hold on tight, we are heading for another crazy adventure!!!!

Coco Cooks!

You would think that being super pretty, really skinny, extremely funny, and borderline brilliant would be enough right?

Nope. I also am a great cook.

It's too much really, but God blessed me with lots o' talent. I kid, I kid. But I really do love to cook and usually whip up dinner every night for my gorgeous family.

Hubby and I eat pretty low carb during the week, this means two dinners. One for us, one for my wild Indians. I try to cook as fresh and as organic as possible. Key word being "try."

This recipe was discovered when I was preggers with Tess, and I was addicted. Why she wasn't born with a raging peanut allergy is beyond me. Bram loved it as well. I am making this tonight for the kids and thought I would share. EVERYONE in your family will be a fan. Promise. It is super healthy and can be made 100% organically without a problem.

Nutty Noodles with Chicken

1 package (12oz) Soba noodles-I use whole wheat fettuccine noodles, we ain't got no Soba noodles in my neck of the woods.
2 cups frozen, shelled edamame
2 cups shredded carrots
1/2 creamy peanut butter
1/2 Asian sesame or ginger salad dressing
2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
1 cucumber, sliced

1) Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add noodles and cook 3 minutes. Add edamame and carrots to noodle water and cook 3 more minutes. Drain.

2) In a large bowl, whisk together peanut butter, salad dressing, and 1/4 cup of very hot water. Add drained noodle mixture to peanut sauce and toss to coat well.

3) Add chicken and cucumber slices and toss again. Serve warm or at room temperature.

YUMMY!!!!

On a side note, that Overstock.com commercial with the two singing farmers bugs the ever living shit out of me.

Thanks lady!!!

My newest read, There's Something in the Glass, gave me this cool award. If you haven't read her, please click off of me and head straight to her. Although, we are quite similar in the sense neither of us have much of a filter and a slight case of diarrhea of the mouth. LOVE HER!!!!!

The rules for the Honest Scrap award -The honorees are to: A) first list 10 honest things about yourself - and make it interesting, even if you have to dig deep! B) pass the award on to 7 bloggers that you feel embody the spirit of the Honest Scrap.

Since I already listed 100 random things about ME, I will pass on another 7. I have actually thought of another 7 but they are pretty random.

And I will pass this great award on soon. I have baths to give and a glass of wine to drink!
