How to make your kids uncool. A lesson by Coco.

At our house the television is turned off as soon as "Super Why" and his super readers are over at 9:30. Then it is all 80's all day courtesy of Sirius satellite radio. This is a recipe for making your kids very unhip.

So unhip that last week I heard Bram singing, "Say you, say me. Say it together. Naturally."

Not kidding.

His favorite song, "One Night in Bangkok." Ask him to sing it and he will go straight into, "Siam's going to be the witness to the ultimate test of cerebral fitness."

Not kidding.

So yesterday as I was going into my 800th load of laundry, one including Hubby's mountain of hunting gear that he needs for me to get ready for HUNTING SEASON. By the way, nothing in the world makes more noise in a dryer than 3 hunting jumpsuits and pants with a million snaps and such. Holy toledo, I felt like I was in a Chinese torture chamber for the 60 minutes it took those bitches to dry.

But I digress. Yesterday as I was doing laundry and the kids were happily playing "city" in the playroom. "Axel F" came on. I turned it up.

And the dancing beasts were unleashed.........

Obviously they had gotten ahold of a stray marker when I wasn't looking and gave themselves some "tats." I guess they realized that they had to somehow make themselves a tad bit hip.

Poor guys and there dorky music lovin' mom.

Thank GOD they don't lack in self confidence.

We listen to 70s music and the love station which Sydney is now addicted to since our trip to your house! Her favorite song is "Smokin' in the Boys Room" - of course. Sadly I only have Sirius in my car.

Good thing that marker didn't get on your furniture!
I love 80's music too. when I get home at night I turn on my stereo and listen to it until it's time to go to bed. THEN..I turn the tv on and watch all my cheezy reality shows ;)

Little cuties! Jack and Lainey loved this post.

Oh, and you sure you don't need to hang on to some of those clothes for Bram? Seriously. We can do without.

Too fun! Maci has learned to dance and it doesn't matter what type of music comes on; she starts bobbing her head and busting out some moves... my favorite is her version of "drop it like it's hot"!

And I'm happy to know we aren't the only ones who hang out in our undies some days! :)

Cracking up, but only because this is SO my life as well.

We sing...

"Open the door, get on the floor, everyone walk the dinosaur."

Now I hope it got stuck in your head as it will mine for the rest of the day. Now we could sing a duo...ready?

Don't make me break out Chaka Khan on you. :)

Glad to see someone else's kids run around un-dressed too! Connor likes to sing Funky Town. And what does hubby hunt....seems way too warm still for shooting stuff.

Love this! We have the TV on music stations more than shows lately, and Carter can bust some moves too! So much fun! My mother wasn't a big fan of the TV all day either, and I vividly remember dancing with her to the Bee Gees when I was little...Now yours will have the same memories. =)
