Butting heads and some cuteness to boot!

I am having one heck of a time with Bram these days! Wowzer! I have a feeling he just doesn't particularly care for me, and frankly right now, he is not my favorite kid.

I am hoping this is a phase. Please sweet baby JESUS let this just be a phase. I really don't want him to grow up to be an asshole.

Hubby and I are pretty consistent with discipline, and he doesn't get away with much. So I don't know why this kid seems to talk back to me all of the time. Like a 13 year old girl!

An example:

Coco: Bram, time to turn off the television, let's do crafts.

Bram: (in a screeching, shrill yell) I don't want to do crafts, you're mean and I don't like you!

Coco: Do NOT talk to me like that! I am your mother and I don't like to be talked to like that.

Bram: I DON'T LIKE YOU!!

Coco: Well, that makes me really sad. I love you with all of my heart, more than any other little boy in the whole wide world.

Bram: I love you, I just don't like you.
(he is soooo smart!)

Coco: Go sit in your room.

And he went screaming all the way to his room, telling me how awful I am. Feet stomping, arms flailing, door slamming.

Isn't that a "conversation" I should be having with Tess in about 11 years about dating, makeup, boys, curfews and whatnot? This was an argument over CRAFTS! CRAFTS!!!

CRAFTS FOR A FOUR YEAR OLD! And the fact that I made him turn off his beloved "Charlie and Lola."

Please somebody tell me this is normal.

But then this morning, he woke up an angel. And I have the pictures to prove it.

See below:

I love this boy with all my heart and soul.

Assholeness and all.

Like I said on the phone.....one day, he will mellow out. I thought for sure Carter would be in prison by now and he's not. Well behaved and such a great kid. Bram will get it out of his system eventually. It took Carter 8 years. You're not too far away!

Welcome to my world Coco ... Chatty is like that and she is 5 1/2 - I keep wondering if it will ever get better before it gets worse (you know the teenage years will not be fun in our house). The hardest part is they have to ability to be sooo bad and sooo good ... so it gets your hopes up and then crazy child returns. Tess is so freakin cute in her pumpkin dress and orange bow! I absolutely love it! And Brams hair oh so cute!!!

So normal...at least for our family! Sorry. When Sydney went in for her 4 year old check up her pediatrician asked me how do you like having a 4 year old? I just looked at him. He laughed and said it's twice as bad as having a 2 year old...now they can talk back...hahaha! Its a conspiracy that they don't tell us about this stage. I think it's because if they warned us many children won't make it to their 4th birthday. By the way, he is no longer our pediatrician.

Sounds familiar! Funny that my 4 year old is sassier than my 8 year old. And the looks she gives me. Ouch!! No words are needed!
Love Tess's cute pumpkin dress! Etsy?

A little sass never hurt anyone, Coco.
And his like vs. love usage is quite brilliant if I do say so myself.
That first pic is just priceless. Too sweet.

Oh girl, seeing them two together is precious. And he just sounds so funny, from where I am sitting of course. But I am sure it will pass. Boys have a lot of aggression at this age. But he IS really smart to say the whole love you but no likey you.
