I kind of feel sorry for them

The weather guys in Austin that is.

Bless their little hearts, they really thought we were going to get some treacherous weather. Hoping and praying that Central Texas and Hill Country were going to resemble New England by this morning.

It didn't happen. Yes, bridges and overpasses are "possibly" icy. AND temperatures are freezing with some moisture. But for the most part, well, it was a very uneventful "winter storm."

In fact, it will be 54 degrees today so the iced branches they kept holding up during the "live shots" this morning, won't be frozen by 10 am.

I felt sorry for the guys, I really did. They looked so pathetic at 7 am this morning pointing to some frozen droplets of rain dripping from a Stop sign, all with such a look of urgency.

On an even more sad note, Bram's mothers day out is closed. Because of this dangerous nightmare of a storm. Therefore, I am inside all day with a 3 year old and 1 year old.

Inside + All Day + with my wild indians = FUN!!

This is why we're constantly at a museum or shopping somewhere. Colorado has 8 months of cold weather a year.....which I love....but can't stand to be in too long!

Every school in this area is closed today. We have ice, but it will be gone soon. My kiddos' school closed yesterday too. Apparently rain is dangerous.

Isn't crazy how the weather guys always over react to ice in TX! It's funny.
Good luck today and hang in there! I've got both boys with me right now. Jon just left a little bit ago.

I remember being in Dallas and everything would shut down for the "STORM OF THE CENTURY"...but back here in MI - I drove to school and work in 4 inches of snow. I just filled up the thermos and started out...

My deepest sympathies on your day stuck inside. We were stuck at home with our 2 yr old for the better part of two weeks at Christmas because of the snow we got. It wasn't pretty.

Yep, that's how it is here in Georgia, too... We never get winter weather. They just need to stop predicting it.

And along these lines, I do always giggle (and feel for them) when there is a "storm" and they try and show the "damage" or "intensity." You know.... They film a styrofoam box blowing by them in the wind, or they show a limb the size of a coffee stirrer laying in someone's yard. Whoa. Better watch out! That storm is wreaking havoc! Poor weather men.
