We take a break from our regularly scheduled program.

I thought I would take a wee bitty break today from my Kansas lovefest and discuss some other happenings in Cocoland.

Last night we had "Bunco" and as I was sitting telling a hilarious story, I noticed a new girl just staring at me. She kept looking at me and then about an hour later says,

"You look just like that actress, oh, I can't think of her name. Oh, what is her name. You look just like her it is crazy, I can't think of a movie...hmmmmmm"

In my head I kept thinking, "Please say Charlize Theron, Charlize Theron, Charlize Theron. Come on say it. Say it... Charlize Theron."

Eventually she figured it out.

Yep, my 999th "You look like Maggie Gyllenhaul." I just don't get it.

Moving right along, for our Bunco party I made Mufelleta on a stick. Super easy, relatively healthy and gorgeous!

When made as an appetizer for a few friends, I place each one individually in a high ball glass. For last night's festivities, I laid them out in a medium Wilton Armetale bowl (which is in the pattern flutes and pearls, I have many pieces from my wedding registry. I recommend this stuff for you gals getting married) they looked lovely and were eaten right up. Recipe will be posted below.

Now, let's head to the den. During our historic home tour in Kansas City, Sass and I spotted these suckers. And naturally we made the purchase. I hung mine on this frame. I am assuming Sass hung hers on her tree. Either way, I thought they were pretty dip dang cute.

And finally. The table that has taken me three weeks to complete. I found the color and texture that I wanted on my table from My Sweet Savannah's post on "Swedish Style" I wanted the color and texture from the cabinets in this post.

I think I may have actually achieved this look.

Fabulous! No? I love love love it.

Unfortunately, I have no before pictures, but the whole thing was just solid oak. Nothing exciting. As most of you know, Coco is NOT afraid of color in her house. Though, I am hoping to have my kitchen cabinets painted white at the beginning of the year.

Anyhoo, because the chairs are obviously no longer matching the table I am purchasing new ones as I find them. All different style and colors and levels of distress. I just have to make sure they are sturdy. That is key for preventing your guest to come crashing onto the floor, flat on their bums during a dinner party.

Just a quick hostess etiquette tip from Coco.

You're welcome. Though that would be really funny.

I Purchased a red ladder back in KC, and have two other non matching chairs on hold in Snyder. So all four chairs will be totally different. Then I plan on having a contemporary muted pattern seat cushion made for each, all in the same fabric. Now, If I had $1,000 laying around, I would purchase these to funk up the table.

Believe it or not, it seems I don't have $1000 laying around and no amount of "favors" can convince Hubby to buy new chairs. I've asked.

And if I hear, "WHAT PART OF RECESSION ARE YOU NOT UNDERSTANDING!?" one more time. I'm going to go kick a puppy!! Being married to a stock broker/financial planner is yucky during a global financial crisis.

Okey dokey, that about wraps up today's fabulous post.

ta-ta for now!

Recipe for Muffuletta on a stick:

Layer 1 slice each of deli style ham, provolone cheese and Genoa salami, tightly roll up and slice into 4 equal pieces. Repeat procedure 5 times.

Thread 24 wooden skewers with 1 of each: pepperoncini salad pepper, meat and cheese roll, 1 1/2 inch long roasted bell pepper, large pitted ripe black olive, and pimiento stuffed Spanish olive.

Place in a 13x9 inch baking dish. Whisk together 1 (8oz) bottle of oil and vinegar dressing and one package of Italian seasoning, pour over skewers, and chill for 30 minutes.

Love the table...it's gorgeous!! It also gives me hope for my equally desparate pedestal that I keep a tablecloth on (for now). Of course I love the idea of mis-matched chairs. Love ya.

You're a much sexier version of Maggie. But there are similarities when she's having a hot day. (Love Charlize, by the way)

Love that app recipe. Tony would gobble those. And Wilton Armetale? Good suggestion. I need to start looking into registries. Bah.
P.s. Table looks AWESOME. You need to do a step by step. I want to do that to my kitchen cabinets.

Love the table! You did great! i love mismatched chairs. I am looking for some extras to sit around our breakfast room. I haven't had much luck. My mom and I talked about going to Forney. Ever been there?

I adore your table!! great work girlie! And those chairs are amazing... stupid Robert Redford and his overpriced chairs! The mismatched ones will be even better though and you won't have to go kick a puppy... many people frown upon that. And, now I have to have some Muffalatta... YUM!
